Maybe this feels familiar

You keep arguing about different things, but somehow the fight always feels the same.

One of you pushes for answers. The other pulls away. Both of you end up feeling misunderstood, frustrated, or alone.

Usually, the problem isn’t just what you’re fighting about. It’s the pattern you keep getting pulled into.

You don’t just need better communication.

You need a different pattern.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) helps couples understand what is happening underneath conflict and disconnection. Instead of deciding who is right or wrong, we work to identify the cycle that keeps taking over and help you respond to each other differently.

Understand the Pattern

See what happens between you when conflict begins.

Slow Down the Cycle

Learn to recognize the reactions that keep pushing you apart.

Reconnect

Build more safety, trust, and emotional closeness.

Brad Jones - Couples Counselor in Greenville

Meet Brad

I’m Brad Jones, an LPC-A specializing in couples and relationship therapy. I primarily use Emotionally Focused Therapy, a research-supported approach for helping couples work through conflict, disconnection, and relationship distress.

My style is warm, practical, and direct. My goal is to help both of you feel understood while we work together to understand what keeps happening between you.

I’m not here to decide who is right or wrong. I’m here to help both of you understand the pattern between you and begin responding to each other differently.

What happens in the first session?

Your first session gives both of you a chance to talk about what has been happening in your relationship and what you hope will change.

I’ll listen to each of you and begin helping you identify the pattern that tends to take over when conversations become difficult.

Both partners should attend the first session so we can begin with a shared understanding of the relationship.

Common Questions

What is Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)?

EFT is a well-researched approach to couples therapy that helps partners understand the patterns driving conflict and disconnection and create new ways of responding to each other.

How long does couples counseling take?

Every couple is different. Some couples come in with a focused concern, while others are working through patterns that have developed over many years. Brad will talk with you about your goals and progress as counseling develops.

Is counseling confidential?

Counseling is confidential within the professional and legal limits that apply to counseling relationships. Brad can explain those limits and answer any questions during your first session.

Do you offer online counseling?

Secure online counseling is available to clients throughout South Carolina. Brad will explain the process during your first session.

Do both partners need to attend the first session?

Yes. I ask both partners to attend the first session. This gives us a chance to hear from each of you, understand what’s happening in your relationship, and begin identifying the patterns that may be keeping you stuck.

Do you accept insurance or provide out-of-network benefits?

Brad Jones Counseling is an out-of-network provider and does not bill insurance directly. I can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement, depending on your plan. HSA and FSA cards are also accepted for payment.
